In the spirit of Valentine's Day and with only a few months to go until Women of Silicon Valley 2020 is live, we asked our US women in tech community what they love the most about working in the industry. Here's what they had to say:

Sabrina Cadena, Partner Operations Specialist at DigitalOcean, Oregon, USA:

"My job is challenging but rewarding, I’m learning so much from my leadership team/peers and the tech I’m working for is exciting!"

Jessica Mehring, CEO and Senior Conversion Content Writer at Horizon Peak Consulting, Colorado, USA:

"I love helping tech companies change the world. My tech clients are enabling businesses of all shapes and sizes - they're helping employees connect with one another across the globe, empowering sales teams to genuinely help their customers, and making data accessible to everyone in the company for a better customer experience and more informed decision-making. These businesses in turn are feeding families, solving complex community challenges, and creating and delivering life-saving products.

As a marketing consultant and writer, I may be at the bottom of the 'tech food chain' - but this food chain leads to a healthier, happier, more connected world and I'm darn proud of my small part in that."

Kelli Dutto, Senior Manager of Security Standards & Design at Salesforce, San Francisco, USA:

"I love working in the tech industry because the nature of tech keeps me on my toes. I enjoy the challenges of having to be flexible to respond to various situations as the industry moves at a face pace."

Taylor Parsell, Web Developer at UC Berkeley Extension, San Francisco, USA:

"Working in tech, I feel like I'm living the dream of getting paid to learn every day. No new day is exactly the same as the last, and there are endless opportunities to build your skills, challenge yourself, and feel the rush of accomplishing awesome things."

Jeena James, Vice President of Developer Products Group at HeadSpin, San Francisco, USA:

"I love working in the tech industry because the user who you are trying to provide a delightful experience to is probably you or the person next to you, or both. Tech done right helps us become more inclusive and greatly diverse!"

Thank you for sharing!

We always enjoy hearing what inspires you and makes you passionate about working in tech. Since there's still a long way to go in closing the gender gap in the sector, it's particularly important that women continually share their professional experiences and encourage other women to follow their career dreams.
